Call Recording


You can set up phone numbers to have these record both inbound and/or outbound calls. Each number can be set up with Call Recording, and you may decide to have call recording on some numbers and not others. A good example is setting up your main phone number with call recording for inbound calls. 

You may also want to set up a recording for training new team members, quality tracking, or for important calls – the reasons you do this are entirely up to you, but the feature setup is always the same.

  1. Log into your account.

  2. Select Switchboard.

  3. Select the number you wish to set up call recording on.

  4. Select Advanced.

  5. Select Call Recording.

  6. Set up settings using the drop-down box “Call Recording”.

Call Recording Options

These are the options available to set up the Call Recording feature:

  • Record: Select which calls to record. You can select all or selected calls only. If you chose select calls you must insert the specific number to record.

  • Manual options: Allow this option if you wish to be able to use *3 during the call to NOT record it.

  • Directions: Select which direction to record calls: Record in both directions / Record only Outbound Calls / Record only Inbound Calls.

  • Email recording: This sends a copy to the email set on Personal Details.

  • Alternative email: Nominate an email address to send calls to – if different from the email in Personal Details.



Manual Call Recording Options

If you have Call Recording set to Disabled for a number, a call can still be recorded manually by dialing a few short keys on your handset. This is useful when, for example, you might want to agree on a verbal contract with a caller. You can dial a key to start and stop the recording once you have announced to the caller that you will be making the recording.

  • When Call Recording is set to on, press #3 to pause a recording.

  • When Call Recording is set to on, press #4 to resume a recording.

  • When Call Recording is disabled, press *1 to start or stop a recording.


NOTE: To enable manual recording you must toggle this on.


Playback Call Recordings

You are able to download the call recording on the Billing Records. Here is the Quick Guide for it: 

  1. Login to your account.

  2. Select Billing Billing Records.

  3. Set parameters to start the Search: Calls made between; For billing period; Billing Group; Calls made from; Type of call; Calls longer than; Only show recorded calls; Calls made to.

  4. Download the calls you wish to playback by clicking on the "Download cloud" icon.

Call Recording must be used in a way that complies with local laws. Please advise the B party caller that Call Recording has been enabled on this account.
